My hobby, sport and passion is windsurfing. I first stepped on a board about 10 years ago, and from then if I don’t windsurf for a few days something feels wrong. I had the honor to represent my country in Athens in the 2004 summer Olympics, and now, after securing a place for Cyprus in the 2008 Olympic regatta I’m starting a 10 month training plan that is going to get me ready for battle in August. Most people think Olympic windsurfing is a much less demanding sport than most Olympic sports, and they couldn’t be more wrong… Windsurfers race 6 days to complete a regatta and sometimes we race for three days in a row. That is, 2–3 races of 30–40 min duration each day, at a pace that leaves you breathless at the finish.

Racing like that, but also, training for that kind of racing, needs 100% out of someone. Now, to get the best out of yourself, you have to use the best available fuel for your body and mind. That’s why I have always tried different foods and supplements over time, in search for something that really worked. Of the hundreds of products I’ve tried the OFB is one of the very few I remain loyal to since I first used it. I primarily use it between races, when I feel I need something more than just a drink, and it is among the very few foods I can tolerate when I am so exhausted. It gives me the sustained energy supply I need for competing and not the sudden up — downs you get with most sport energy bars. The OFB is also the answer while traveling. If you travel a lot then you know that airline and airport food is not the best — to put it politely — and you also know that with the current safety restrictions around the world you can’t even take a bottle of water along in the cabin. Under these circumstances I’ve found OFB very useful indeed, because it is in such conditions that your body needs high quality food, and what could be better than a bar full of certified organic ingredients?

With the OFB in my diet I am out of excuses for not eating right. Sometimes eating healthy and wholesome food means eating something you don’t really like, so it’s really great to have something that tastes so good, but is healthy and requires no preparing as well.
